September Upcoming Events: Week III

We here at have an action packed line-up for all of you visiting and residing in South Lake Tahoe this week. First off, we are pleased to announce the

<a href=arrival of Robert Cray and his band to Harrah’s this Saturday, September 19th. Cray is a Grammy-award winning blues artist whose new album “This Time” once again brings the blues to life. You can check him out this weekend by picking up tickets here or contacting Harrah’s directly.

UFC 103 will be televised in South Shore this weekend. Head to Bar 24 inside Bill’s Casino or Lakeside Inn to check out all of the action.

Whiskey Dick’s will be presenting world renowned hip-hop/rap artist SKEE-LO this Saturday for a CD release party with special guests O.C.T. and BonusTraxxx. The place will be jam packed so be sure to get there as early as possible. Friday night, Whiskey Dick’s will be hosting musical groups Silent Treatment and Grey Atlas for a no-holds barred jam fest. This is another event you won’t want to miss.

The local bar scene will follow Whiskey Dick’s lead this week, with incredible performances by local and national artists dotting the South Lake Tahoe scenery. McP’s Pub will feature Mark Wilson every Monday and Wednesday throughout September, the Big Red Blues Band this Friday and Saturday and Joe Grissino each Sunday.

Mark and Grace Wilson will also be performing at Murphy’s Irish Pub: Rockwater Friday, 9/18, with more live music to follow through the weekend.

Sammy Hagar, who came through Tahoe with his supergroup Chickenfoot (featuring Chad Smith, Joe Satriani and Mike Anthony, check out’s interview with Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith here) will have Hookah Stew performing at his club Cabo Wabo Friday and Saturday this weekend. If you’re down to let a little “diablo” out, get on down to the Wabo.

Camp Richardson’s Beacon Bar and Grill will feature 5 O’Clock Charlie and No Taboo this weekend as well, adding a fresh mix to the live entertainment in South Lake Tahoe.

The dance clubs in South Lake Tahoe will continue to do it big this weekend – MontBleu’s Opal and Blue night clubs will feature the hottest tracks in the highest quality environment while Vex will be hopping as big and bold as ever. If you’ve got the itch to shake a tail feather, they’ve got you covered!

Check out the longest running show in Tahoe at Horizon Casino’s Carnival Cabaret. Let’s just get it out there – there are no words to describe the cabaret… it defies words, other than to say that it is something that you simply have to see before you leave the South Shore of Tahoe.

With drink specials, food specials, and nightlife exploding all over South Lake Tahoe, there will be very little down time for the bored. Dare we say it… boredom just can’t be penciled in this week! Best of luck out there, and enjoy South Lake Tahoe!

Arts, Festivities and Culture

This Sunday South Lake Tahoe will have the Jaycee Dugard Fundraiser Concert at Horizon Casino in Stateline, NV. The event is called “Building New Bridges” a celebration to mark her safe return from 18 years imprisoned by her captors. Performances from The Movers, The Garcia Brothers, Big Red Band, Turquoise and others will highlight the evening’s festivities, with a silent auction and cash bar among the attractions. Everybody is invited!
