Meetings & Retreats

South Lake Tahoe is, in itself, a wonderful tourism hub where people can kick back and take a breather from the humdrum of everyday life. It’s a beautiful place with many exciting and exotic places to visit in its territory, not to mention many events that serve as additional attractions to the city. The fact that South Lake Tahoe is a tourist destination, however, does not mean that it’s all play and no work. In fact, it’s a very good idea to hold your corporate meetings and conventions in South Lake Tahoe.

When you really think about it, more and more companies are discovering the benefits of holding meetings, seminars and conventions outside their “home base”. Often, off-site meetings inspire different perspectives, new ways of looking at things. Out-of-town business gatherings such as this often lead to new approaches and strategies to the business. Recognizing this trend, it is not at all surprising that South Lake Tahoe is eager to host these meetings and conventions; and its atmosphere happens to be just right for getting people to loosen up and to open up to new possibilities.

There are many sites that have set themselves up as ideal venues when having seminars, meetings and conventions in South Lake Tahoe, and it’s likely that there will be more in the future. At the moment, there are less than twenty venues for meetings and conventions in South Lake Tahoe, all of which are equipped for corporate events – from board meetings to banquets – and some are even open for training seminars. Most of these venues are, of course, connected to hotels, inns, and sometimes educational establishments such as universities. But rest assured that all of these venues are dedicated to making corporate meetings and conventions in South Lake Tahoe comfortable and productive for all individuals concerned with the event.

While it has been said that none of the venues and facilities here are the perfect place to hold your meetings and conventions in South Lake Tahoe, this is not to say that they are not good places, or that they are not open to improvement. For example, the Stanford Sierra Conference may have had some complaints over the fact that it tends to be very chaotic over quarterly meeting seasons, but the service and neatness of the venue pretty much makes up for that. With a maximum capacity of two hundred people for the entire facility (with nine event spaces), it’s not too bad a place to hold your off-site company conference. In fact, that makes it more than adequate.

And if it just so happens that you want something completely different for your corporate meetings and conventions in South Lake Tahoe, one that would inspire camaraderie within the company, then you may want to try going to the Heavenly Mountain Resort? The entire facility could host 250 guests, and who wouldn’t want to take in that mountain atmosphere in between meetings and team-building exercises? Sure, the venue is not completely corporate. But it works.

The benefits of having your meetings and conventions in South Lake Tahoe may be affected by your venue; but the experience of having your corporate event in such a beautiful city likely makes up for whatever complaint you have.
